How to Edit a Post in WordPress

May 30, 2012

Editing a post from within your WordPress dashboard is perhaps just as easy, if not easier, than posting the post to begin with.  To edit a post in WordPress, simply follow the steps outlined below.

Step 1

After logging into your WordPress account, you will be presented with your WordPress Dashboard.  Along the left hand side of your dashboard, you will notice many tabs that you can click on, such as Dashboard, Upgrades, and Posts.  Left click on Posts.

Step 2

This will open up a screen that will show you all of the posts that you have created so far.  Go over the list until you find the post that is in need of editing.  When you have found it, hover over the post and you will see choices appear.  These choices include: Edit, Quick Edit, Trash, and View.  Left click on Edit.  This will open up the page that allows you to edit your post.  It is very much the same as when you first posted the post.

Step 3

Edit your post as needed.

Step 4

Remember to click on Update or Publish in the upper right hand corner of the page.

You have now edited your post!
